Thanksgiving

I sure do like it when you humans have a holiday that has to do with food. As you know, food is my favorite subject along with snoozing and playing. Even though I do these things every day, last Thursday I got to do more eating than usual. As most of you know, I can eat twenty pounds of meat at one sitting and then go back and do it again two hours later. Let me tell you I gave it my best shot, but Mom put her foot down after the fourth helping I took. I got to have turkey, and by the way Dad, those turkey legs have a lot more meat on them than those puny chicken legs you feed me each day. How about two or three of them instead of chicken from now on? I also had this neat stuff called dressing, some red jelly like thing called cranberry sauce, some of my favorite vegetables, mashed potatoes, and some dessert. Now dessert was really good. I think they called it pumpkin pie and it was covered with what looked like the yogurt Dad makes me eat every day, (he says it's good for me), but boy was it good. They called it whipped cream and I sure wouldn't mind if they replaced my yogurt with it on a regular basis. I don't care if it is fattening. I wanted to try some of the wine that was served with dinner, but since I am only nineteen months old Dad wouldn't let me have any. He said maybe next year. Yes, sometimes you humans, BURRRRRRRRRRP, excuse me, do know how to do things right. I wonder why you guys don't celebrate Thanksgiving more often?

By the way, I have something else to be thankful for. The KP Cafe re-opens for the season next Wednesday December 3rd. I can't wait for Bob to fire up that old stove; I can smell the food cooking now. I wonder if I can convince Kris to bring me another buffalo burger? I have been trying to get one from Ted but I guess since I weigh more than him he won't bring me one. By the way, Christmas is coming up and if you are wondering what to get me, I have the answer for you. Get me a gift certificate from the KP Cafe or the Sopp and Truscott Bakery here in Silver Plume, or in Georgetown, The Raven Hill Mining Company or The Petra Cafe. If you see Jessica Wood down at the Buffalo Restaurant in Idaho Springs, ask her to save me some scraps. I'm not really picky, but I do have my favorites.

All this talk, BURRRRRRRRP, excuse me again, about food has made me hungry. Once again Dad is upset because I am drooling on the keyboard, and he hates sticky keys. I wonder if there is a keyboard cleaning service around? I am going to cut this article short so that I can get me a snack and then I think I will take a little nap. When I wake up, I guess I'll play with my roommate, Shawnee. He stays with me down at Mom and Dad's house. Everyone thought I would have had him for a meal by now since he is only half my size. Actually he is too tough, and besides, he runs too fast. I prefer my meals served to me in my bowl. It is a lot easier that way. If my cousins in the wild only knew how I have it maid, whoops, I mean made. I guess I have a butler too. Mom and Dad, thanks. Hey, is there any leftover turkey? How about pie? Whipped cream? What about.....BURRRRRRRRP.
